3 Causes of Fatigue: Toxicity, Stress, Poor Nutrition

Fatigue & Stress, Nutrition & Diet, Wellness Blog

Toxicity, stress and lack of adequate nutrition have taken their toll.

Fatigue is by far the most common symptom we see on patient intake forms. While many times it is the primary symptom, fatigue can be secondary to almost any other medical condition.

It can be as mild as the need for an afternoon chocolate pick-me-up. Or it can so severe that moving from the bed to the couch can seem almost impossible.

Some people wake up exhausted. Sometimes it’s simply due to insomnia. While other times even a full night’s sleep doesn’t recharge the batteries.

Chronic or extreme stress can lead to fatigue and in today’s world and stress is something just about everybody can relate to. It’s very typical for a patient who is chronically tired from stress to experience adrenal fatigue.

Un-resolving stress, toxicity from hormone blocking petro-chemicals or even a lack of nutrition can disrupt glands. For example, adrenal glands, the hypothalamus and the pituitary which secrete hormones that influence the function of the entire body. If they go down your energy level won’t be far behind.

Stress, stimulants and refined sugars, all commonplace in the modern world, can simply wear a Thyroid gland out. A tired thyroid means a tired body. In our office, this is one of the most common issues we help solve.

Associated pain can really drain your energy.

Emotional stresses and traumas can lock the nerve system into perpetual survival mode – which requires lots of energy. Before you know it, there’s not much left for anything else. Individuals who hold a lot of stress in their spine tend to benefit greatly from Network Spinal Analysis.

Fatigue can be a result of low blood sugar or low blood pressure. Immune challenges like viruses, funguses, parasites and bacteria can also sap our energy. A person who has allergies or a person on prescription medications can experience anything from low energy to exhaustion.

Finally when most all of the body is stressed and breaking down, and the pain and fatigue get bad enough, they call it Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. When toxicity, stress and lack of adequate nutrition have taken their toll, this autoimmune condition and associated pain can really drain your energy.

With all the possible things that can cause fatigue, it’s no wonder that it’s such a common symptom. Our specialty at Monadnock Natural Health is rooting out these sometimes hidden stressors and providing safe, natural and effective solutions.
